Hospital to=20 provide medical services during races

Kenner, La., July 10, 2008 =96 = East=20 Jefferson General Hospital, Metairie, La. has signed on as an in-kind = sponsor of=20 the Al Copeland Memorial Powerboat Races August 1 =96 3 in Laketown = Park, Kenner,=20 La.

The hospital will provide medical = personnel and=20 equipment to ensure the safety of the racers on the course and to staff = a first=20 aid tent for the spectators in = Race=20 Village located in=20 Laketown=20 Park.

"The Offshore Super Series is = sanctioning this=20 race and they have strict medical safety guidelines for each race," said = Lou=20 Anne Campbell, the race producer. "A certain number of EMTs are = required=20 to be out on the course during testing and racing, in addition to an = ambulance=20 on site and a medical doctor on standby. The stellar reputation of = East=20 Jefferson = General=20 Hospital made my choice of an = emergency services provider an easy one."

Race=20 Village opens to spectators = August 1,=20 2 and 3 at 10 a.m. = Admission is=20 $10 for a one-day pass, $15 for a two-day pass and $20 for a three-day=20 pass.
